Working cows never has a schedule. Sometimes the cows escape on a Sunday. Sometimes you’re on a relaxing trail ride and you find cows on the wrong side of the fence. Sometimes cows make you run through the bush. Sometimes your cows are in the wrong pasture. Sometimes cows charge you. And even sometimes cows are a pain to get into the sorting pen. Cows don’t have a schedule, and that’s why we always have the horses ready. Ready for a chase, ready for sorting, ready for running through the bush full speed trying to catch a bull, ready to lope through a wide open field trying to get them across. Some people might think working cows on horses is a chore. But for us it’s an event that’s just second to Christmas. Love Ella

second to Xmas sounds pretty awesome to me!

I read this just as you are not working cows again … this time in the cold and rain, each time there is a story to tell, isn’t there?
keep writing – it’s beautiful!
